Watch This Film: THE OTHERS

This week’s feature for our latest vodcast, Watch This Film is the innovative horror/thriller The Others starring Nicole Kidman. Joining me to discuss the film is filmmaker/actor Kate Forsatz ( Thre3bound).

Released in 2001, The Others is the story of Grace (Kidman) a woman living with her two children on the Channel Islands in the UK just after WWII. The family is completely isolated with no way to contact the outside world until the others arrive. After some strange occurrences, Grace becomes convinced there are interlopers invaded her home and must fight back to protect her children and survive.

The Others is written and directed by Alejandro Amenábar who also directed Abre Los Ojos (Open Your Eyes) which was later remade by Cameron Crowe under the title Vanilla Sky. Amenábar, who also composed the score for the film, leads us down a dark road with plenty of twists and turns. I don’t want to say too much, but I will say watch this film and then watch our episode which is now streaming on Spotify with audio on Apple Podcasts and other podcast platforms.
