On this episode we continue our No Rest for the Fest coverage of the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival and take you back to the red carpet for The Choir, the new Disney Plus docuseries about the Detroit Youth Choir, Blood for Dust, the new crime drama starring Kit Harrington and Josh Lucas, and Fresh Kills, the new film by actor/director Jennifer Esposito starring Emily Bader.

On the red carpet for The Choir tells the story of the Detroit Youth Choir, an organization with humble beginnings that was featured on America’s Got Talent and would later play Carnegie Hall. Series Director Rudy Valdez and DYC Artistic Director talk about the series and how it came to be.

Director Rod Blackhurst, Producer Noah Lang, and stars Nora Zehetner and Amber Mason talk about their latest project, Blood for Dust, a story about a man who gets caught up in the world of drug running with themes of class and income inequality in America.

Fresh Kills is the story of the women of the mafia written and directed by Jennifer Esposito. Esposito’s friend Kathy Najimy ( Hocus Pocus 2, King of the Hill) was a guest on the red carpet. When asked about the movie she said, “This is one of the greatest movies I’ve seen. I am so proud of Jennifer Esposito. She thought of it. She knew that there was a story missing. She wrote the story. She starred in the story, and she directed and produced it.”

We don’t have release dates for these projects as of now, but we hope to keep you posted. Follow us here for more entertainment news and film festival coverage and subscribe to No Rest for the Weekend on your favorite podcast app and on YouTube.
