Tonkawa Film Festival Annouces Selections for 2022
[TONKAWA, OK, 2/28/2022] The organizers of the Tonkawa Film Festival have announced their Official Selections for the 2022 Tonkawa Film Festival which returns for it’s 3rd year Apr 8–9, 2022, hosted by the Tonkawa Chamber of Commerce. This year’s festival screenings will once again take place at Wilkin Hall on the beautiful Northern Oklahoma College campus in Tonkawa, OK.
“For the 2nd year in a row, we have seen our submissions increase significantly from the prior year.” said Festival Director James Oxford. This year’s 34 selected short films, include 12 international films and represent filmmaking across 5 genres (Drama, Comedy, Horror, Documentary & Animation). The festival will culminate with an awards ceremony Apr 9th where custom made plaques will be presented to the winners of each category and a $500 cash prize given to one film selected as the Best of the Fest. Festival attendees and visiting filmmakers will again be treated to a one-of-a-kind film festival parade through downtown Tonkawa as well as other planned activities to be announced soon.
A list of the selected films is available to view at the festival’s website. Tickets are also on sale and can be purchased through the website or in-person. All filmmakers attending with a selected film are provided a free hotel room throughout the festival at the Tonkawa Hotel & Casino, as well as transportation to/from airport.
Tonkawa Film Festival is committed to promoting the art of filmmaking in the heart of Oklahoma and is hosted by the Tonkawa Chamber of Commerce.
