NGLmitu Unveils Plans for 2023 at Upfront Event

At an event held at the Ascent Lounge in New York City, NGLmitu presented itself to the advertising community for the first time since the announcement of the merger of NGL Collective and Mitu last August.

We spoke with CEO David Chitel who talked about his long time partnership with actor/activist John Leguizamo and their goal to serve what they call the “new generation Latino audience.” He described his target audience and the company’s intent to serve them by saying, “These are Latinos who were born in the US, or if they were born abroad, they’ve largely led bilingual/bi-cultural lives… We reach them as we say in language and in culture and in context… We welcome everybody, but at the center of what we do is going to be by and for the Latino community… We have content for females. We have content in the music space. We have content in the food space. We do a lot of shorts, ‘SNL shorts,’ but for Latinos. We do a lot of work with brands as well. Most of what we do is really about telling stories that wouldn’t otherwise be told through a Latino lens and shining a positive light on our community like no other company really has..”

John Leguizamo, founding partner in NGL Collective commented “The thing that excited me the most was a platform, creating our own platform, creating our won studio where we can create the content. All the stuff we’ve been talking about, we need more Latin content. They’re not giving us the opportunity. Here we got our own studio. We’re doing own thing, and that’s exciting.”
