Rufus is a new 5-story horror anthology from Canadian-American filmmaker Mars Roberge, starring former drug kingpin Freeway Rick Ross, David J (Love and Rockets, Bauhaus), Angelo Moore (Fishbone), Rah Digga (Thir13en Ghosts), Spookey Ruben(Scumbag, Stars), Jim Sclavunos (Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds), Debra Haden (Mister Sister, Stars, Scumbag), Verona Blue (Bosch), Monique Parent and more…

Written and directed by Mars Roberge (Stars , Mister Sister), Rufus contains a story that is adapted from the play Climbing Vegetables by Berlin-based playwright Erez Majerantz. The original score for the film is by Angelo Moore (Fishbone) with original music by Michael Cashmore (Current 93).

A man in the hood, Rufus, tells five disturbing dark stories to his family and friends against his wife’s will that include a mortician working on the wrong night, a singer who learns about entertainment corruption, the future of adoption, medical malpractice and the cost of war.

The first horror film by Mars Roberge which he says was made by purposely freezing himself at night so that he could conjure surreal nightmares to write about afterwards. Rufus recently won Best Horror Film and is currently nominated for Best Picture at the 34th Los Angeles IFS Film Festival (Independent Filmmakers Showcase).

Rufus is set to premiere at the 34th Los Angeles IFS Film Festival (Independent Filmmakers Showcase) on Sunday, May 18th at Regal Cinemas L.A. at 7 p.m.
