Katra Film Series Holds Awards Presentation in Tribeca

Feb. 27 New York, NY — On Saturday, the Katra Film Series concluded their Grand Finale with an awards celebration at the HiO location in the Tribeca section of New York City. It was a small, socially distanced gathering of filmmakers with masks required for all in attendence. Festival founder, Geoffrey Guerrero was on hand to present the awards.

The Grand Prize for Best Short Film went to Treeline Lake directed by Sinah Ober. The award for Best Feature Film went to Crossroads of America directed by Gabrielle Muller. The Audience Choice Award went to Master Maggie, directed by Matthew Bonifacio. The Priest, directed by Michael Vukadinovich, was given the Honorable Mention for Best Short Film. The Right to Rest, directed by Sarah Megyesy and Guillermo Roques, won the award for Best Documentary. Best Episodic or TV Pilot went to Mann Overboard directed by Sam Cadman. Best Animation was awarded to Kite directed by HongWei Wang. The Honorable Mention for Best Animation was given to The Tattooed Torah directed by Marc Bennett.

With movie theaters set to reopen in New York City, Katra Film Series organizers hope to return to the Alamo DraftHouse in Brooklyn later this year.
