Episode 1202: Origin Stories Part I

This is the first part of our two part series where we introduce up and coming talents in the world of entertainment. On this episode we present actor/filmmaker Sakinah Iman and comedian/storyteller Matt Storrs.

Like our Hollywood series of episodes, these are documentary style interviews that present the subjects without censorship in their own words. They talk about the struggle of trying to make it in New York City, creating their own content, dealing with rejection, and the pitfalls of social media.

We first met Sakinah Iman on the red carpet of last year’s Bushwick Film Festival where she spoke about her short film, He Wants to Know My Number which has since been featured on Showtime. We worked with Matt Storrs on our pilot project, BTRP TV which premiered at the Catskill International Film Festival.

Next week we’ll present two more rising stars, actor/model Aislinn Evans, and actor/dancer, Kevin Rivera.
