DON’T MAKE ME GO Premieres at Tribeca Film Festival

Last night at the SVA Theater in New York City, Don’t Make Me Go the new indie drama from director Hannah Marks made its world premiere as part of this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.

Don’t Make Me Go is the story of Max Park and his daughter Wally. When Max learns he has a terminal illness, he decides to take his daughter on a road trip to teach her all he can before he’s forced to leave her. Unbeknownst to Wally, he also plans to reunite her with her estranged mother.

The film’s stars, John Cho and Mia Issac were on-hand to take pictures and answer questions from reporters. When asked what attracted him to the project Cho said, “I love the intimate scale of the movie. These kind of features are few and far between these days. The dramatization of a father-daughter relationship I thought this was worth exploring and meant something to me. The character was going through something difficult. I just thought all the elements where there for something interesting to happen.”

Cho went on to say that he enjoyed working this his co-star Mia Issac and described her as the “perfect partner” for him. He also spoke about having a lot of faith in director, Hannah Marks who he described “very intelligent” and “commanding.” When asked about the impact he’d like the film to have on audiences, he said “One of the things that unites everyone on earth is our love for our families… That’s more important than any other issue… I would love it if this is a moment to reflect on that. In my ideal world, that would be something to focus on with this movie.”
