In this excerpt from episode 1418 of No Rest for the Weekend, Grammy winning recording artist Gloria Gaynor talks about the new documentary Gloria Gaynor: I Will Survive which opens in theaters for one night only on Feb. 13th.
Gloria Gaynor is a legend whose mega hit I Will Survive catapulted her to stardom in the 1970s. The documentary chronicles her life from her rise to prominence to her recent reinvention of herself as a gospel artist. According to a recent press release, her first gospel album, “Testimony,” was released in 2019. It won the Grammy Award for Best Roots Gospel Album in early 2020 at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards.
Gloria is currently working on co-writes with several Grammy-winning songwriters in Nashville who have penned hit songs for Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Meghan Trainor, Dolly Parton, Maroon 5, and more. The new music set to be released later in 2024.
